SPRING 2026

On Saturday, March 7th, 2025, I attended a Service Saturday where I helped to set up for the Ithaca community's Downtown Ithaca Chili Cook-Off! Our group helped to set up many tents and cables, as well as direct vendors where to go. I also helped to regulate the parking unloading zone to ensure people were only using it for its intended purpose. This event unites the Ithaca community and supports local businesses. I also got to have some chili before I left! My key takeaway from this Service Saturday was that I can succeed at a task that is out of my comfort zone. I am not used to directing strangers, especially in their parking spaces, and this event was really helpful in teaching me how to take more authority and be confident when delivering instructions.
